Semana 67: Transfers

Que dicen güeros

Sorry for not sending another email last week my bad. I don't have any excuses. Ni modo

Our Pdays have been getting pretty extreme not gonna lie. After the water balloons and fireworks, we decided to play the game called "huevasos". It's where you spin a bottle, whoever the cap points to picks up an egg while everyone runs for their lives and tries not to get hit. I got some pretty gnarly bruises on my back from getting pelted by eggs. An Elder accidentally pelted an investigator in the head with a egg and that got me so dead. The investigator keeps listening to the lessons and comes back every Pday so I guess it is fine.

Here is the difference between a Mexican and an American... it all started when we were playing wall ball (the game we all played in elementary school). An American missionary didn't catch the ball and started running towards the wall before he got hit. All the Mexican missionaries swarmed around him and started kicking his shins and his legs. I shouted "WHY ARE YOU ALL KICKING HIM??" and then one of my old companions explained to me that when one tries to run to the wall, everyone swarms around to kick them and that is how they play wall ball.

We ate Hamburgers as a zone with ward missionary leaders who are newlyweds on the terrace of a tall building in Papantla and it was so sick. After that, my comp, two of my old comps in exchanges and I went to my area where some Seventh Day Adventists invited us to a carne asada party.

We are trying to get a couple married and this past week we've spent a lot of time gathering all of their paperwork, doctors visits and such. We also sent in our demand for another couple to get divorced this week.

We had transfers this past week and my comp and I are staying together. He is going on his 4th transfer in this area... poor guy. This will be my 4th transfer as zone leader and I am already kinda exhausted by it, but I am willing to do what the Lord wants me to do. Speaking of which, the other zone leader goes home 3 weeks into the transfer so the last half of the transfer President said I will be babysitting the Zone by myself. A lot of new missionaries came into the Zone and there are 4 companionship that are starting to have issues...

Companionship 1: They are in a trio and they just goof off all day
Companionship 2: A District Leader, trainer, and opening an area coming out of his training, very green
Companionship 3: They don't do anything at all
Companionship 4: 2 American missionaries, one just finished his training and the other is still in his training and their previous companions were Americans. So they are green and don't speak Spanish

...but I am not complaining, this transfer is going to be awesome!

This last Sunday we had 12 investigators come to church! But if you add up all of the children under 8 years old that are part of these families, inactive members, and investigators, we had over 20 people come to church due to our efforts which took up 1/3 part of the congregation. It was incredible.

Thanksgiving happened... but we didn't really do anything special. Three of our investigators invited us to eat with them and we managed to crunch time and we ate three times in the span of three hours lol. We ate tacos, enchiladas, pozole and cake! It was a good Thanksgiving and my investigators wanted me to feel special on this holiday even though I am away from home.

That is just about it for this week! Love ya!!
