Semana 60: Almost Stabbed
There's this crazy, drunk homeless guy that lives pretty close to our house. He always cusses me out whenever we pass by him. This week we were walking down the street and we saw him from a distance. He looked stranger than normal. We had no choice but to walk in the direction where he was standing. As we passed by him, he started following me about three feet behind. I got really uncomfortable and looked back. In his left hand he was carrying a cigarette in the other hand, he had a knife. I freaked out and started walking faster. He started walking faster. I started to take my bag off so I could smack him because I was not about to get stabbed. Thank heavens a group of people walked past us from the other direction and caused a stir up so I was able to get far enough away from him.
My Roommate
I finally got my second dose for the Covid vaccine. We are praying that soon enough the Covid restrictions will start to lower a bit and we can finally knock doors and not use face masks.
The Assistants told us that some missionaries were coming down to Xalapa from up north that needed to get vaccinated. Last transfer the ZLs in Macuil (my zone) and Papantla basically did an interchange of companions. My old comp is with the old comp of my companion. When they came down here, they got to spend the day and the night with us. Sleepover with 3 other zone leaders including my old and favorite companion, Elder Guerrero, was a blast.
La Zona
While BYU was getting clapped by Boise State, my comp and I put our friend, Raul on date for baptism for the end of October!! This was our second lesson with him and he is crazy elect!

We heard transfer news and I am going to the Papantla Zone in the north part of the mission as zone leader!! The APs separated the zone leaders in two different areas to help train and motivate the struggling missionaries in the mission. I'll be with a kid who just finished his training. He's Mexican but is fluent in English and from what I've heard, he's a cool guy. I am going to a small town outside of Papantla called Agua Dulce and from what I've heard, it's probably one of the most dangerous areas in the mission. The people are very indigenous and tend to be savages. 4 weeks ago a guy with a black mask tried to kill my new companion with a machete. He and another companion ran through a forest, swam across a river, and hitch-hiked to get to the city center while this entire time the guy was chasing after them. Should be exciting!
Have a great week!!
