Semana 46: Coffee Cake and No Phone

This week made me laugh.

To start off, we were on our way to district council and I was really excited because my companion and I were gonna buy a cake for some missionaries' birthdays in the zone and we were ready to grub out hard until...I lost our cellphone. I still don't know if I left it in a taxi or got pick-pocketed but it was not anywhere to be seen. That situation absolutely killed my mood and I wasn't really thinking straight. I walked into a cake store and I asked for a tres leches cake and picked the first one I found. Turns out I bought a freaking coffee cake. We still ate it all and I made my entire zone sin 😪

We were going to get a new cellphone anyways so it wasn't that bad, we were only phoneless for one day. But that one day I felt like a complete hooligan walking aimlessly through the ghetto streets of Petromex. It also forced me to listen to my companions undying obsession with anime and Minecraft. I learned some things.

The Assistants forgot to bring us a SIM card so even though we had a cellphone, we didn't have data to do anything until Saturday night.

I had interviews with President and I went in with a few questions about some investigators that we are teaching. President's response absolutely blew me away... "Just baptize them all!!" I love President Perkins and he is calming down a bit with his numbers but the response is the same every interview hahaha!

I finally got the courage to tell Sister Perkins (the mission president's wife) during our interview that I am ready to leave Petromex, I hope my prayers get answered.

We had zone conference this last week as well and it was probably one of the best ones I've been to thus far (even though it was 10 hours). The spirit was so strong and it was incredible to see how far we've come from January to now with obedience and urgency to work hard. When my group of American missionaries got to Xalapa, we were one of the worst missions in all of Mexico in regards to baptisms and obedience, now we are the number 1 baptizing mission in all of Mexico!! Let's goooooo!!!
