Semana 44: Pato York y Pato Trump
What is up my fellow friends and family!! I am sorry but this weekly is gonna be a drag, I have absolutely no motivation, but my companion fell asleep during primetime and won't wake up so why not write my weekly, right?
To be 100% honest, this week was brutally hard. I am dying over here, if my companion doesn't kill me from working, it will be a miracle.
To say the least, never judge your companions' working habits after the first five days. My companion is very lazy. It is a nightmare trying to get him out the door and all he does is complain while we are on the streets about things he hates about our investigators, the members, and the church in general. On top of that, the two other Elders in my district are difficult and don't know how to work effectively. The Sisters are golden, shout out to Hermana Jackson and Hermana Acevedo for staying obedient and keeping me sane. 😪
Missionary for the day
El Compa
We keep adopting animals and I don't know why. We had a lesson with some investigators and they asked if we wanted 2 baby ducks. I said no and my comp said yes so of course, we took the ducks home because I was not in the mood for a fight. So he named them Pato York (after Pollo York who escaped) and Pato Trump (because Donald Duck and Donald Trump... yeah). The first night my comp left them outside of the box and we woke up to crap everywhere. I told him to clean it up and he guilt tripped me into doing it myself. The ducks will be gone by tomorrow.
Pato York y Pato Trump
We had exchanges with the Elders in my district and it was pretty fun and stressful. They are literally teaching one person right now and she has schizophrenia so she's definitely not a reliable investigator. I helped them find a new person to teach and we set up 10-12 appointments with members to ask for those good ole referrals. Meanwhile, my comp didn't hold down the fort in our area like he was supposed to so I came back the next day to a literal mess.
1 Kilo de Carne!!!
My mother sent me a Spikeball set. She is literally the best!
We had two baptisms this week, Brismar y Brisa, they are literally the sweetest and I am so happy they finally made that decision to be baptized after all of the many trials that were thrown at them these past several months! They truly are the best!
Well this is all for this week! I hit my 10 month mark as well and it is so crazy to think that I am so close to my year mark! I am grateful for the experiences I've had thus far and even though I've had some very difficult companions here in Mexico, I know the Lord is trying to teach me something! Love you all!!!
Also Happy Fathers Day to the greatest Dad out there! I miss you so much and you are the best Dad I could possibly ask for. Thank you for being the peacemaker in the house when Mom and the siblings and I get riled up. I LOVE YOU!
