Semana 47: The Zoooooo
This week was a pretty decent week! We taught some good lessons and found some new people to teach. We started week 6 of the transfer and I am excited because this most likely means I will be leaving Petromex after 3 transfers. If I don't get transferred, I may riot.
Last Pday, the Hermanas in our district found this zoo in the middle of nowhere in one of the areas in our zone. To be quite honest, I did not want to go at all because I hate zoos, but I think it's safe to say that I enjoyed it most out of everyone. My zone leader looked at me and said "What the crap Scown you were the one complaining about coming here and you're having the most fun out of all of us". We saw a ton of cool, exotic animals such as lions, tigers, cheetahs, and baboons. It was so fun! I guess I need to try new things out more often!
Tigre
Leon
Los dos leonés
Just Goat's hanging around
I have forgotten the English word for this animal
Guess what day it is
This time I was the one who broke into the cage hehe
Just for some background context... my companion has an unhealthy obsession with anime... here in Mexico the nickname for anime girls is "mona" and the name for monkey is "mono". We went to a zoo, there was that monkey with a red butt idk what it is called.
My comp: *scrolling through our photo gallery* Did you delete the photo of the mono's bare butt?!?
Me: You shouldn't have that on the cellphone
My comp: Why did you delete it that was the only photo I had!!
Me: Man you shouldn't have that on the cellphone that is extremely inappropriate as a missionary
My comp: What do you mean it's inappropriate??
Me: A "monas" bare butt?!? That is way inappropriate!!!
My comp: Yeah, so?!? It's so funny man you were laughing when we were watching it together
Me: What do you mean we were watching it together?!?
***continued argument for 10 minutes***
Welp we wasted 10-15 minutes worth of precious breath arguing because I thought he was talking about anime girls and he was talking about the monkey we saw at the zoo. Trust me everyone the language barrier is not a problem anymore I have no idea what happened this time hahaha!
We had two different exchanges this week which helped the time pass by faster because I had a 4 day break from my companion haha! Tuesday and Wednesday I went with the Elders in my district and Friday and Saturday I went to Coatzintla with one of the Zone Leaders. It was way fun and we found several new people to teach in the two areas.
We found several new people to teach this week and we also started teaching old investigators again. Some of these investigators are way elect and I hope they will accept the invitation to be baptized these upcoming weeks!
Awesome pic the Sister missionaries made for me
I learned a new life skill this week, how to get rid of mold! The secretary's in our mission told us we needed to find a way to get rid of the mold infestation in our house or we needed to move because many missionaries have gotten sick due to mold. Since our house is one of the only houses with air conditioning I was determined to get rid of every lick of mold. We threw on some anti-humidity material and a solution that kills molds, then I started scrubbing all the mold off. We repainted the rest of the house as well. The secretaries stopped by and were astonished with the work we did and told us we could stay wooooo! But after less than a week the mold is starting to grow back but hey hopefully I am getting transferred on Sunday so it won't be my problem anymore!
I almost got demolished by a semi truck it practically grazed my nose because I was so focused on kicking this rock that I found on the street. Not my proudest moment... especially because I was on exchanges.
Hope y'all have a phenomenal week! Love you all!
