Semana 36: Petro 4 Life
Hello everyone!! I hope y'all are doing well!!
She thinks the missionaries are her dad
We learned how to make tamales at Hermana Carla's house (a member) and it was actually pretty fun!!
I learned a ton of bad words this week... from a member.
The bruthas
We got a taste of incest in Mexico when we found out two of our investigators, the mother and the son, ARE PARTNERS. The saddest part is that they are probably our most elect investigators at the moment and the Law of Chastity is gonna be a real awkward lesson.
Buena Suerte Elder Alfaro
This guy we are teaching easily passes off as one of the strangest investigators I have ever encountered. He should be baptized by now. He literally sends us our own mormon message videos and general conference talks to read and listen to. He then goes on a deep and profound analysis of these talks and testifies of the words of the prophets. His WhatsApp photo is a painting of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery when they were visited by Elijah in the Kirtland temple. On top of all that, he acts like a clingy girlfriend and gets sad when we don't respond to him within an hour. The most frustrating part is he REFUSES TO BE BAPTIZED!
We got transfer news and I am staying here in Petromex with my companion. Super stoked about that!
The height difference kills me
My mom keeps telling me I need to start putting more spiritual thoughts in my emails so here we go...
This week has been filled with so many small tender mercies. This was probably one of the first times I could physically see the Lord working through another person to bless me or one of my investigators. We have this extremely elect individual that we are teaching and the only thing that is holding him back from baptism is tithing. I have been on my knees pleading with the Lord all week to give me something to help him. It wasn't until sacrament meeting yesterday when I found my answer, the entire bishopric spoke and their topics were very individual but their topics encompassed 3 things, fast offerings, fasting and tithing. The bishop spoke about tithing and the things he said gave a whole new light and perspective on the importance of tithing. I felt the spirit so strongly and I knew this was an answer to my prayers. Yes, I started crying a little bit and I'm sure that weirded out the members, haha. I wrote down some notes and sent them to our investigator and it helped him a lot! Such a blessing!
Hope you all have a great week! Love you!
