Semana 73: My Son

Hey everyone! I hope y'all had a phenomenal week! After the wild incident that happened on New Years Eve, the town has been pretty shaken up. A lot of the investigators we have and members are somehow related to this family and were there when they were laid to rest. It was a great moment to teach the Plan of Salvation. The town is really down in the dumps right now. The power and cell service went out in the entire town the day we got transfer calls. The phone completely died and we had no idea about transportation. My comp and I went to Papantla to charge the phone and get cell service. Turns out that I had to leave that same day. We went back to Agua Dulce, my comp packed all of his stuff and we left for me to catch my bus. The annoying part is that the bus arrived 2 and a half hours later at 9:30 at night. The bus ride to Xalapa is 5 hours and we got there at 3am. The APs called me and told me to spend the night with them so I took a taxi at 3 in the morning to the APs house. W

For all you who are reading this, this is not a joke, there are no exaggerations or anything of the sort... It all started on New Year's Eve, my comp and I were invited to some investigator's house to eat dinner with them and watch them light off fireworks. We ate dinner and chatted for a little while. One of the rooms was filled with mortars, sparklers, and all sorts of fireworks you can possibly think of. A young man was selling them. Chemo bought 200 pesos worth of fireworks and we left.  We walked around the corner and to Chemo's house (keep in mind that he lives about 100 yards or less away from this house that was selling fireworks). For about 15 minutes, we were innocently lighting off fireworks and having a good time when all of a sudden

Being 20 feels a little strange but it's the start of a new decade so I am hyped. I am also finishing my blackout year on the mission this week so I'll see all y'all in 2022!! Fuegoo This week was splendid. We had a lot of fun activities including a Branch Christmas party, zone activities, and passing out gifts to our investigators. Emircito Not going to lie, our branch knows how to throw a party. I was thinking it was gonna be this lame fiesta that nobody was going to show up too. People definitely showed up...and a lot of them. Basically all of the people in our branch who are inactive all year long, showed up to the branch Christmas party to participate in activities and eat free food. When Sunday rolled around, they went back into their inactive shell. There was a lot of dancing and skits, and even Santa came. All of the childre
